Safety and Privacy for Northwest Harvest in Yakima, WA

Safety is a key priority not only for individuals but also for business owners. They always try to enhance the security and privacy of their employees and customers. It becomes especially crucial in areas with a higher-than-average crime rate.

A nice example of such a place is Yakima. It is the 11th largest city in Washington State, a central hub for business, education, and health services. However, Yakima is also known for its elevated crime rate. In 2021, the city’s crime rate, as reported by the Yakima Police, reached 4.5 times the national average. While there was a slight decrease in crime numbers by 2023, our client, Northwest Harvest, decided to protect their business from any potential crimes. We are glad we’ve assisted them in applying window films for safety and privacy.

In 1967, activists founded Northwest Harvest to end the hunger. Now, this state-wide company operates the SODO Community Market in Seattle and delivers two million meals monthly through over 400 partners. Their commitment is recognized by Charity Navigator (Four Star Charity), the Platinum Seal of Transparency, and the Better Business Bureau. Therefore, Northwest Harvest proves to be an anti-racist, anti-oppression food justice organization that cares about the citizens of all cultures and incomes.

Northwest Harvest aimed to mitigate the risk of injuries from broken glass. That’s why we applied a 14-mil Armorcoat Clear safety and security film to their storefront. Moreover, to improve the privacy level, our professional team installed Armorcoat-Silver 8mil 20 film in their offices and kitchen in the same building. We enhanced the film’s durability by attaching it to the window frame with silicone DowSil 995. As a result, the first film protects vulnerable glass from damage caused by weather, break-ins, and accidents, while the second film ensures privacy.
